The cause factor, accident types, operational phases, and kinds of flying are tabulated. Collisions between aircraft are treated as one accident. A complete analysis and coding is done on each aircraft involved in collisions. This produces two aircraft accident records, one for each aircraft involved in the collision. Consequently, when compiling information on accidents involving collisions between aircraft, the number of accident records will exceed the number of accidents. The injury and cause/related factor tables show the number of accidents. All other analytic tables show both records and accidents. (Author)
