The Dutch National Aerospace Laboratory NLR is currently developing one of the most advanced research flight simulators available today for fast jet fixed wing and rotary wing aircraft, called the National Simulation Facility (NSF). The NSF is a full scenario research flight simulator, in which highly realistic air-to-air and air-to-ground missions can be flown for evaluation of (new) tactics, training methodologies and very important, for assessment of necessary simulation and simulator requirements for specific training tasks. The current capability of the simulator centers on the F-16 Mid-Life Update configuration.
