The TIROS-N satellite is scheduled for launch in mid-1978. The third generation environmental satellite will carry instruments that can provide data to meet stated requirements in support of both day-to-day environmental monitoring and global research programs. The satellite system is a cooperative effort of the United States, The United Kingdom, and France. General information about the spacecraft, its orbit, and its instruments are presented. Details on the real-time data links are included for those planning to receive these data from the spacecraft.
