An upper extremity prosthesis for a forequarter amputee was laboratory evaluated. The evaluation consisted of an observation of the functional characteristics with emphasis on cable force and excursion levels, battery life, and cyclic tests. The results obtained indicate an acceptable level of performance. It was concluded that this type of prosthesis should satisfy the needs of the forequarter amputee to a great extent. (Author)
