The volume contains a preface, the papers, and descriptions of ensuing discussions at the AGARD-NATO Aerospace Medical Panel Specialist Meeting held at the U.S. Naval Aerospace and Regional Medical Center at Pensacola, Florida, on 16-17 May 1973. The 21 papers presented had close bearing to the operationally oriented requirements of clinical aerospace medicine and highlighted some significant aspects of cardiovascular, pulmonary, orthopedic, neurologic and psychiatric, ophthalmologic, aural, endocrinous and metabolic pathophysiological conditions. The following discussions discovered some important viewpoints and led to a valuable exchange of knowledge and experience on methods, results, and approaches adopted by the national aeromedical centers, and on national philosophies, policies, and regulations as well.
