The overall goal of the research is to determine: what type of data should be gathered; how should the data be processed; how should the data be compressed and presented to potential users. The purpose of the present report is to: Evaluate current databases to determine their applicability to the aerospace sector; Develop methods for processing competing failure mode data; Provisionally design a general data compression and retrieval format for aerospace applications.
