As a contribution to a 1971 NATO seminar on aerodynamical testing facilities, a brief report is given on the outcome of a specialists' meeting organized by the fluid dynamics panel of AGARD and held at Gottingen. The best technical advice available within AGARD leads to the conclusion that one or several large new windtunnels would contribute immensely to the effectiveness of a large number of aerospace systems now planned or contemplated within the NATO nations.
