The papers represent several important advances in the study of traveler behavior and values. Five of the papers are concerned with behavioral travel demand specifically, and one is concerned with the value of time. Significant steps are being made in many of the relevant research areas. The papers in this Record clearly move disaggregate models substantially closer to full operation, particularly for the modal-choice decision, and cast some extremely important highlights on the value of travel times and other attributes.
