The proposed airport is located in the Town of Little Falls, Herkimer County, New York, adjacent to the westerly boundary of the City of Little Falls. The project consists of the following items of development: land acquisition; grade, drain and seed the airport site; construct a 4,000-foot by 100-foot asphalt runway, a 150-foot by 300-foot apron, a connecting taxiway and a 1,100-foot by 24-foot access road; fencing; medium intensity runway lighting; obstruction clearing in the approach zones; obstruction lighting within the control zone and miscellaneous items. The project will not result in, nor cause, any primary or secondary consequence on the environment. The unavoidable probable adverse environmental effects of this airport are minimal and should be insignificant, in view of the fact that the proposed site is in an agricultural area, the land is poorly suited for agricultural or residential purposes, is removed from any residential or heavily populated area and does not appear to attract any unusual or rare species of wildlife. There is no conflict with any other community interest. (Author)
