The report discusses and describes how a correction for the road surface can be introduced in models used for prediction of traffic noise along roads. The model used in the Nordic countries and the models that the Swedish Road Administration uses in its planning lack at present such correction. The report suggests that the road surface correction will not be introduced at present in the Nordic traffic noise model (NTM) as compulsory. However, two tables are introduced as an Appendix in NTM. The tables contain correction terms for road surface based on measurement results obtained over a long period of time. If desired, the information in the tables can then be used for correction of the basic noise emission values in the NTM with regard to the road surface. Furthermore, certain text additions shall be introduced in the NTM. Since the terminology is different in the Nordic countries, the report also contains a Danish and a Norwegian version of the road surface terminology.
