An analog aid is presented for determining the relationship between the SARSAT or COSPAS satellite orbit coverage of emergency locator transmitter/emergency position indicator radio beacon distress incidence. The predictor allows the user to quickly visualize the probability of a selected position being detected and is composed of a base map and a satellite track overlay for each satellite. A table of equator crossings for each satellite is included. Directions are given for using the predictor.
