The project consists of developing a freeway facility on new alignment to serve a major corridor consisting mainly of thru traffic. This project is not likely to be highly controversial on environmental grounds. Adverse environmental impacts arising from this project include the displacement of nine rural, single family dwellings and one chain-operated service station, increased air and noise pollution along the proposed corridor and slight potential for water pollution particularly in the vicinity of the Arkansas River.
