These proceedings contain the documentation of the third annual Federal Waterways Management Research and Development Coordination Conference. The intent was to foster improved coordination and cooperation between federal research and development activities pertaining to waterway management and navigation research. Topics were organized into four technical sessions: Monitoring and Modeling the Navigation Environment, Environmental Issues and Management, Navigation Safety and Efficiency, and Surveying and Mapping. The general chairperson's comments and summary for each of the four technical sessions are also included in this report.
