This report concerns a study which uses data from the STRATO-LAB V balloon flight and a computer program to describe a vertical flight trajectory for the proposed STRATO-LAB VII balloon. The calculation of the proposed STRATO-LAB VII flight was performed to examine the capabilities of the balloon system. Reliability of the mathematical model and input data was established by calculations of the STRATO-LAB V flight until satisfactory correlation between predicted and actual STRATO-LAB V trajectories resulted. The predicted STRATO-LAB VII balloon flight indicates a ceiling of 111,000 feet, an average ascent speed of 925 feet per minute, and a duration of approximately 9 hours. (Author)
