The evaluation of the pavement at the U. S. Naval Station, Adak, Alaska is presented with the allowable gross load capacities of the runways, taxiways, hard stands and parking aprons for single, dual, single-tandem, and dual-tandem wheel assembly aircraft. Results of the evaluation show that both runways and most taxiways and hard stands, with the exception of portland cement concrete Parking Apron 1, are being overloaded by the larger transport aircraft using the station. A visual condition survey of the pavements at the station show that pavement conditions ranged from very poor to good with the average pavement rated as fair to good. (Author)
