The purpose of this publication is to provide guidance to aerodrome operators on the measures which can be taken to produce an effective bird control organization at an aerodrome. The amount of bird control needed varies from place to place. It is affected by such factors as geographic location; the attractiveness to birds of the area in general and the aerodrome in particular; aircraft traffic density and routings; aerodrome operating times; and types of aircraft operated.
