This report presents the results of a NCHRP Report 350 type 4-10 crash test conducted on a sidewalk-mounted steel bridge railing designed by the New England Transportation Consortium (NETC). The test utilized a 920 kg (gross weight including dummy) small car impacting at 100 km/h and a 20 deg angle to evaluate the length of need of the barrier section in general, and the occupant risk in particular. The performance of the barrier was judged to pass all evaluation criteria of NCHRP Report 350, and no barrier damage, other than scuffing, was noted.
