A process for the removal of contamination from small passageways, such as are present in combustion chambers and fuel injectors of liquid fueled rocket engines, is described. High pressure water is introduced through main conduit into the passage of a component. Higher pressure gas is introduced into the water flow through secondary conduit before the water enters the passage, in an amount to cause intense vibration and agitation of the water flow. A normal range of water pressure in the main conduit is from 100 to 600 psig and the gas is introduced into the main conduit at a pressure 100 to 200 psig higher than the water pressure.
