The project is a link in a north-south freeway facility located in the county of St. Louis, Missouri. The purpose of this project is to extend the existing Route 725 northward to Interstate Route 70, completing a segment of the ultimate freeway facility connecting Route 40 and Interstate Route 270. This portion of Route 725 is expected to be utilized by 92,000 to 127,000 vehicles per day in 1992. The project corridor traverses urban developments composed of single family dwellings and commercial establishments. The necessary acquisition of right-of-way will alter the existing environment. Approximately 194 homes will be affected by the proposed alignment. This project will have a positive effect on the environment by providing a safe and adequate facility to supplement and relieve present inadequate traffic arteries. Necessary acquisition of right-of-way for the roadway construction may have an unavoidable adverse environmental effect.
