A simple second-order infinite impulse response (IIR) filter is introduced. An efficient algorithm to use it as a line enhancer and tracker is presented. The related experimental results demonstrate that it can be used very effectively to enhance and track a single or dominant sinusoid in broadband noise. (ERA citation 09:003100)
