This volume presents evaluations of the traffic operational and safety effectiveness of 40 recent interchange rehabilitation projects. All of the projects involved geometric design modifications at freeway-arterial interchanges in urban and suburban areas. The evaluations, presented in case study form, describe the geometrics of each interchange, the traffic operational and safety problems that existed before the improvement, the interchange rehabilitation alternatives considered (including the one finally selected) and the operational and safety effectiveness of the rehabilitation project.
