The Aircraft Force Projection Model (AFPM) is a FORTRAN model which projects the Navy's aircraft inventory over a ten-year period and attempts to satisfy the operating requirements of a given set of forces with the projected operating inventory. This comparison of operating inventory and force requirements is the characteristic which sets the AFPM apart from most inventory projection models. The AFPM generates useful characteristics of the aircraft inventory such as projections of the age distribution, attrition quantities, pipeline requirements and rework requirements. (Author)
