An evaluation of the adaptability of gas turbines to military vehicles is being carried out by the Army Ordnance Corps to determine the advantages and disadvantages of such installations. An advantage of the gas turbine is that it can operate on a wide variety of liquid hydrocarbon fuels, which is an important logistic characteristic that is being sought by the Army in choosing vehicular propulsion plants.
