The report is a multidisciplinary investigation of an accident involving a car whose gas tank had been replaced 2 months prior to accident and the tank support strap apparently had been improperly reinstalled. Fire occurred when the gas tank fell to roadway after the support strap failed. Ensuing sparks ignited spilled gasoline. 2 occupants of the car suffered severe burns, 1 child suffered fatal burns.
