This report presents emission measurements of external train noise from modern Swedish trains. The purpose of the measurement series is to produce new input data for the Nordic prediction method. The result of the project is that the noise level from electrical passenger trains are approximately 5-8 dB lower than that of the existing Nordic prediction method (train type correction 0 dB). The corresponding result for freight trains (locomotive type: Rc (electrical), T44 (diesel-electrical) and Dm3/EL15 (electrical)) is that these are equal to those of the Nordic prediction method, train type correction 0 dB at 60 km/h. However, at velocities above 60 km/h most of the freight trains (locomotive type Rc and T44) are more quiet than those of the Nordic prediction method - train type correction 0 dB.
