U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) staff has received reports of 2,454 ATV-related fatalities from 2005 through 2007. Of these, 536 fatalities were identified as related to an ATV with more than one rider. These fatalities represent 502 incidents. In this pilot study, CPSC staff analyzed these 502 incidents for passenger location on the ATV, rider characteristics, and incident characteristics. This report summarizes the results of this passenger pilot study.
