The tow target system installation, analyzed in this report is intended for towing large towed targets for air-to-air and surface-to-air weapon training firing exercises. The system will also provide for the towing of smaller towed targets at towline lengths exceeding 6 miles. The analysis indicates that the installation is adequate, structurally, for target towing missions which are within the capability of the A-4 airplane. Flight test of the system is recommended to determine suitability for service use. (Author)
