This report constitutes a slight reworking of the overall description of the results of this work which appeared in our Seventh Quarterly Report (PLAIC Report Number 12). These additions consist of a new and simpler yet more faithful turbine model (Chapter 2), a new set of time responses for the ship itself and its components, and the adoption of ship's speed rather than percent power as the medium for expressing the imposed ship control signals (i.e., from 30 to 35 knots rather than 70 to 90% full power). Major additions to our work at this stage also included in this report are full use descriptions and FORTRAN listings for all of the digital computer programs used to design and simulate the ship's propulsion control system developed during this study.
