The results of a feasibility study of the space telescope solar array are described and consideration of design is included. The selected concept with the rationale for its choice is described. A BISTEM actuated ROSA is chosen on the basis of its general compliance particularly with the dynamics, comparative simplicity, and mainly proven technology. Other candidate concepts are described and evaluated. A design description is given which includes configuration, mechanical, electrical, dynamic, and thermal aspects.
