The study was conducted to determine the truck drivers' travel characteristics, concerns about work zone traffic control devices, assessment of work zone features, as well as to determine the location of accidents and bad driving situations based on the experiences and perceptions of truck drivers. The term bad driving situations (BDS) is used because during pretesting of the questionnaire we realized that truck drivers were using it to describe a difficult driving situation, a 'near miss' accident situation, an unsafe driving situation, or situations with a higher risk of accidents.
