The study addresses the specific subject of the rail/barge terminal. The purpose of the study is to guide the Port of Port Townsend by evaluating the engineering, economic, and financial feasibility of reconstructing or relocating the rail/barge terminal. The Port of Port Townsend's involvement in acquiring and rehabilitating the Milwaukee Road rail/barge terminal have identified development alternatives and costs, investigated rail shippers' needs, and the economic and environmental effects of development alternatives, analyzed the financial alternatives available to the Port to implement rail/barge terminal and boat haven development.
