The action involves the sale of 11 million board feet of mature and overmature sawtimber in Idaho County, ID. The proposed action will have no permanent impact on the environment existing in the project area. The project will create temporary, adverse impacts on air quality, scenery, solitude and watershed, while providing long-term benefits to forage and timber production, fire control, insect and disease control and community stabilization. Short-term economic benefits will accrue to local and regional industries involved in logging, lumber manufacture, transportation and marketing.
