The Washington Dulles (IAD) Capacity Design Team was formed to evaluate potential airport capacity enhancement and delay reduction options at IAD. The analysis was limited to the airfield and its immediate airspace, composed of the common approach and departure corridors. The Design Team recommendations identify several improvements at Washington Dulles International Airport which will enhance capacity and reduce flight delays. These recommendations are based on the potential cost savings and delay reduction benefits. The Design Team considers the technical feasibility of airport development, the application of new technology and new airspace procedures.
