In compliance with the National Environmental Protection Act of 1969 and the National Historic Preservation Act Amendments of 1980, the Southeast Archeological Center conducted an archeological reconnaissance of Blue Ridge Parkway lands which will be affected by construction of the Tanawha Trail, a hiking trail that will run southwestward from the Julian Price Memorial Park campground to the Beacon Heights parking area.
