An analysis is made of the optimization of the powered-flight trajectory of an inertially-guided ballistic vehicle germane to accuracy. Examination is made of an idealized class of bilevel trajectory profiles. Practical quantitative as well as qualitative results are derived for an optimized trajectory, with the performance of a conventional constant-thrust trajectory used as a point of reference.
