The purpose of the project is to provide a facility for anticipated 1990 traffic of 42,000 vehicles per day. The existing rural roadway and bascule bridge across Dickinson Bayou are inadequate to meet present traffic needs. It has been evidenced that the proposed improvement will not adversely affect the character of development along the route.
