As ART OF THE Longitudinal Health Study conducted on a group of 1,017 U.S. Navy submarines eighteen anthropometric measurements were taken and are presented as statistical summaries. This information on the characteristics of submariner physical build can be incorporated into new designs for submarine equipment, e.g. consoles, berthing spacing, etc., and can also be used in future epidemiologic studies of submariner health.
