The paper discusses practical applications of reliability technologies for motor vehicle development, ranging from reliability specifications via predictions to verification and analysis, the corner stones of any reliability program. Examples illustrate the specification of reliability and service life as well as the application of the most important methods of prediction and analysis. The objective is to identify suitable ways of establishing and carrying out reliability programs for developing motor vehicles and automotive components.
