The increasing cost of a thorough flight test of new fighter air-to-air tactics and equipment has made the use of simulation computer models to assist in this process desirable. This study presents an analysis and description of PACAM V (Piloted Air Combat Analysis Model). PACAM V is a computer model developed to assist in the evaluation of aircraft, armament, and tactics by simulating the performance of aircraft and weapons in combat. The PACAM damage models for the computation of aircraft probability of kill are analyzed and suggestions for improvement are made. An interactive User's Manual for operation of the model on the IBM-3033 computer at the Naval Postgraduate School is presented. (Author)
