The symposium was primarily concerned with the fluid dynamic aspects of predicing aerodynamic loads that represent difficult design and operating problems. Emphasis was on theoretical and semi-empirical methods for determining the level and distribution of the expected loading and on assessing and evaluating the accuracy of the predicted values through comparison with available experimental data from windtunnels and flight tests. The evaluation report summarizes the advances in the state-of-the-art of aerodynamic load prediction represented by the conference papers and discussion and indicates unsolved problem areas for further research effort.
