This presentation defines the purpose, discusses briefly the historical concerns, and provides an overview of the established action plan. The Army Technical Center for Explosives Safety has been involved in several on site surveys including the downloaded ammunition from prepositioned ships afloat. Topics also include commercial seaports, as well as military ports, worldwide for movement at Department of Defense munitions that raise many concerns due to the exposures to people and property in the port areas. In many instances, populations are directly adjacent to operations involving millions of pounds of high explosives ammunition.
