A statistical error analysis was made for the orbit determination process, where the observations from ground stations and/or from some orbiting spacecrafts, employed for tracking, are used. The various errors included in the analysis are errors in the tracking systems, uncertainty in the orbit model, inaccuracies of the ground station coordinates, and errors in the orbital elements of the tracking satellites. The orbital accuracy is computed in terms of the errors in the elements as well as in position and velocity along the trajectory. All errors and uncertainties are represented by covariance matrices. The computer program ODEAS, developed for this purpose is also presented.
