An effort is underway to correlate results of accelerated laboratory corrosion tests with actual shipboard exposure of aircraft materials. This report describes the first of the series in which aluminum alloys with varying susceptibilities to exfoliation and stress corrosion were exposed on the flight deck of an aircraft carrier. Use of an electrochemical corrosion monitor to measure corrosivity of the environment is also described. (Author)
