This document describes the General Operational Aircraft Logistics Simulation (GOALS) model and results achieved to date. The model was developed to simulate a peacetime military aircraft operation, including logistics elements. The model is capable of receiving detailed logistics data (spares, equipment, facilities, personnel, maintenance tasks, maintenance times, reliability factors, and maintainability criteria) and utilizes these factors as required to support a specified operational need. Operational variations can be applied to determine impact on logistics and support costs. Conversely, logistics availability can be adjusted to measure the influence on operations.
