Estimates of expected hydrodynamic loadings on the struts of 80-knot hydrofoil craft are required for the structural design of such craft. An effort was made to provide the needed design data by considering both the maximum side force on a strut not experiencing side ventilation, and the side force required to perform flat turns in a certain sea state.
