Summarized in this booklet are the findings and recommendations of a comprehensive study of highway safety needs in Maryland. Twelve areas of governmental activity at the State and local level were evaluated to learn what steps should be taken to provide Maryland with a Statewide program meeting the safety needs of its motoring public, as well as to help it meet requirements of the Highway Safety Act of 1966. A technical report was prepared for each area studied, setting forth administrative and legislative proposals to meet these important objectives. (Author)
