An apparent paradox is presented that originates from current commutators in quantum electrodynamics, followed by its solution. In the two appendices the author discusses the presentation made of the same (or a closely related) paradox by Schwinger in 1959 and Johnson in 1961. The conclusion is that there is no need to modify the current commutators. (Author)
