The Ocean Engineering and Construction Project Office (FPO-1) of Chesapeake Division Naval Facilities Engineering Command was tasked by Pacific Division Naval Facilities Engineering Command to perform a study of viable concepts for the installation of mooring island dolphins. The six following concepts were analyzed for their relatively safe and economical constructability by Naval Construction Forces on the island: Crawler Crane with Additional Bents, Direct Pile Driving from Work Barge, Jack-up AMMI Pontoon, Construction Jacket, Semi-Submersible Templet, and Flexifloats.
