AGORs 27 and 28 are new 'Ocean Class' research vessels being built at the Dakota Creek Industries Inc. (DCI) of Anacortes, WA shipyard under the supervision of the Scripps Institution of Oceanography (SIO), with delivery of AGOR 27 schedule for late 2014 and AGOR 28 in 2015. AGOR 27, first of the class, will be named after Neil Armstrong. AGOR 28, second of the class, will become the R/V Sally Ride. Motor requirements for work and rescue boats discussed. The operators receive feedback from DCI on recommendations for pilot house console face arrangements. Fabrication of the Sally Ride forward bow sub-assemble continues. Both wing tanks and the first platform deck are now in place.
