The Vision for Space Exploration was put forth in 2004 with the goals of advancing the U.S. scientific, economic and security interests through a robust space exploration program. The nation's Vision for Space Exploration honors the previous commitment to the space station and at the same time commits us to new journeys to the moon, Mars and eventually the rest of the solar system, to learn the potential of this territory and chart a way for others to follow. This brief presentation focuses on the importance of space exploration to the nation and the historic national tradition of exploration and progress in general.
